Soluble collagen, the majhor constituent of our connective tissue when we are young, is where skin aging mainly occurs, This happens because as we grow older, the soluble collagen becomes progressively more insoluble because of cross-linking within the collagenic fibrils. This solubility provides skin with good water absorption ability due to elasticity of the connective tissue.

Elastin is the second most abundant constituent of the connective tissues. It has properties of elastic extension and contraction. Elastin also becomes less in quantity as we grow, leading to loss of elasticity and eventually wrinkling of skin. the addition of elastin in the Aloe Moisturizing Lotion enhances the flexibility of the epidermis because of its ability to bind moisture.
